VOLUNTEERS:

How to be a mentor -

“You are moments away from changing your life forever.”

Mentors call the office or register an inquiry on line. Mentors are volunteers who wish to have some positive involvement with a child and enjoy involving that child in their own activities (Community – Couples) OR wish to spend time with a child at one of the designated sites or schools. Upon applying, an interview is accomplished, clearances and references are checked, and sometimes a home visit is made. Once accepted, a determination is made as to how to match in consideration of interests, compatibility, etc. Orientation and training is accomplished, and discussion about a prospective match is had before a match is made.
